The Padas River has some of the best rapids in South East Asia!
Padas River is situated in the interior of South Western part of Kota Kinabalu. It is a very remote area which is only accessible by train. To get there you have to catch the oldest train in Borneo up through the jungle covered mountains and pass through the village of the once renowned Murut head hunters' tribe.
Some rapids are grade 4 and are up to six feet high. It's a 9km raft trip through 7 exciting and tough rapids! With rapid names like Merry-Go-Round, Break Point, Scooby Doo, Cobra, Curve, Lambada and Head Hunter you get the general picture:
