Recently Z-Dam was running in Richmond, and my buddies and I were stoked to get out there and throw some tricks. We weren't expecting to be anything like these guys, but we figured that we would be better than we were last season.
We hadn't been playboating in over 6 months, and instead we spent the summer creeking. I guess it was time to pay the price, and our performances in the hole definitely confirmed that we lost whatever skill we previously had.
My friend and I both have firecracker Project 52's that saw the light of day for the first time in a long time, and it felt great to be back in a short boat. The boats proved themselves earlier when the James River was flooding from a tropical storm. I'm sure once we get our skills up to par again that the boat will shine at Z-Dam.
