Just the other day I was reading a post by Andy Maser about his experience with a dislocated shoulder. I thought it was interesting, but didn't think too much about it. Afterall, how likely is it that I would dislocate my shoulder kayaking?
The more I think about it though, the more I realize just how often…
So if you haven't heard already the Project X is where it's at. This boat is the best playboat I've ever paddled, hands down! Lately I've been paddling a lot with Bryan Kirk on the Upper Gauley and hitting up all of the little holes along the way. Wanting to get the X out on a wave lead us to Diagonal Ledges on the Lower, we liked! Here's a little video I put together of Bryan getting his groove on at Diagonal Ledges,… Continue
About the time that I finally figured out how to get past the third end in a cartwheel, the word on the river was that “cartwheels are out,
loops and ariels are in.” Wouldn’t you know once again I would be a move behind when it comes to playboating. But in my quest to figure out cartwheels I had fallen in love with the EZG—partly because I could do flat water cartwheels in it, but also because stability is high on my priority list when it comes… Continue

Just got done with my summer gig in Colorado and I am roadtripping around NorthWest these days. Here is a video from Black Canyon I put together the other day - ENJOY!
Here are some latest local shots, and some of the first natural flow ive gotten since moving to NC (LOW WATER IS BETTER THAN NO WATER).... though the almost daily dam released Green River Narrows runs are nothing to complain about!!! Here you will see the cascading 50ft. Rock Creek Falls, first showed to me by my buddy Will Dowling whom never stopped…
Soon or later, everybody will hit the nose of the kayak in this way:
It's not a kayak fault, it's our fault. However this kind of damages, if the plastic is not broken, are really easy to fix. Now we'll learn to make the plastic malleable and reduce the indentation.
First of all you need to warm up the material either in the middle of the indentation and the edges. You need to be careful to do not melt the plastic, but just warm it up until you… Continue

All good here in Colorado. Summer is getting to the end, we got last full on week of work and then who knows what is gonna happen.
Last weekend I had a great time on Black canyon of the Gunnison with some of my best friends Yonton Mehler and Bryan Owen aka Astral buoancy, Brent Toepper aka badass guy who reps for Sweet in Colorado, Milo from Crested Butte and Daniel Windham from…
When I posted video called My Home I called Pine creek rapid my home run. It is true but its easy, accessable, convenience and fun run. In this blogpost I would love to introduce you some of my best home runs ever called Lake creek. It flows in valley next to the road no. 82 called Independence Pass. Most of the summer its really high and running bottom section would be pretty hard core. You can run upper section though and it includes some fun class IV-V…
Last year, EP teamed up with National Geographic Monster Fish guru Zeb Hogan and a pair of Brazilian scientists to explore a remote 400-mile-long river — the River of Doubt (now called the Rio Roosevelt) in southwestern Brazil. Our mission: catch the tuna-sized catfish and paddle the Class V whitewater Teddy Roosevelt first described during his exploration of this Amazon tributary in 1914. Like Roosevelt, we walked away with mixed success, but that's the nature of expeditions--especially in the… Continue

Week before Teva games I got a phone call from the boss of Timberline tours in Colorado that they are looking for a safety kayaker for this summer. Chance of getting paid, being able to kayak every day doesnt come every day so I said “Yes, of course!”
These days I kayak every day. Safety kayaking for rafting trips in the morning and…
Teva mountain games kicked off on Thursday with Steep creek championships on the Homestake creek. 55 best kayakers from all over the world come every year to show their skills on manky class V whitewater. In the first run I was 9th, so I tried really hard in second run. Unfortunatelly, at the bottom section I lost few seconds not being on the fastest line. That meant 11th place overall. Sam Sutton from New Zealand won the race.…
After several weeks spent in California, kayaking and working, we got to Colorado few days ago. Weather is sunny and warm, flows are high and we all are having great time out here. This weekend I have been representing at the CKS kayak festival before Teva mountain games next week.
