Last few days on the Ottawa

I will post some of the best images I captured throughout 2010 in the next few days, but for now I though I would share a few images…

Project X at Diagonal Ledges

So if you haven't heard already the Project X is where it's at. This boat is the best playboat I've ever paddled, hands down! Lately I've been paddling a lot with Bryan Kirk on the Upper Gauley and hitting up all of the little holes along the way. Wanting to get the X out on a wave lead us to Diagonal Ledges on the Lower, we liked! Here's a little video I put together of Bryan getting his groove on at Diagonal Ledges,… Continue

Project X and BUS EATER Wave

Rain, rain, and more rain brought the water level of the Ottawa River to the bring of spring flood. The ottawa river locals put themselves on Stakeout watch for the slowly approaching high water Bus Eater Wave. The level never quite got to prime but the 'almost' Bus level had to be surfed.
This was my first time surfing a sizeable wave in the new Project X and good times were certainly had. A small crowd gathered to…

P56X First Impressions, and Sizing Considerations

At first glance this boat looks exactly like it acts on the water; fast, loose, maneuverable on waves. The one thing I wasn't expecting was how well it would perform for me in holes.…

Project X Lower Gauley Diagonal Ledges

Haley Mills, Mike Taveras, and I had the Project X on the Lower Gauly on Saturday. We hung out at the Ledges and had around 20 people try the new Project X out and each person loved it!

Here are a bunch of photos from the Ledges.

The car loaded up with the Project X and Jeff's oc1 ready to hit up the lower.

Endless River Adventures Blog on Project X - Confessions of a Closet Playboater

About the time that I finally figured out how to get past the third end in a cartwheel, the word on the river was that “cartwheels are out, loops and ariels are in.” Wouldn’t you know once again I would be a move behind when it comes to playboating. But in my quest to figure out cartwheels I had fallen in love with the EZG—partly because I could do flat water cartwheels in it, but also because stability is high on my priority list when it comes… Continue

Gauley Day 1 - Footage from Pillow Rapid

Although the web guy (me) found some carnage early myself just hiking down to Pillow rapid with a nice spill (and dirtying my new AT Paddles shirt) it was worth the hike as I found quite the party going on at the bottom. Here's a few uploads.

I wouldn't have fallen if the sign hadn't gotten me so shaken, ok.
