Winter update and first event of 2015

Winter has been long, cold and snowy in VT! Luckily, Jeff and I like winter.  We spent 10 days in the Florida Keys doing a bit of vacationing.  We brought our SUP’s and had an awesome trip paddle boarding, eating fish and just relaxing. The rest of winter we pretty much snowboarded, xc skied, snowshoed, and did a weekly pool session. Winter is not letting up in the northeast.  Temps have been a bit cold and it snowed Saturday, Sunday and Monday!  I was able to get a day at Tville in CT, a…See More

2014 was Awesome!

I know it’s that time of year when every one does a year in review.  Well here is mine. It doesn’t contain any sick boating in remote cool places around the world or dropping off the biggest waterfalls. It’s just me paddling around the Northeast having fun and just enjoying my life to the fullest.  Jeff and I taking a cruise on the…See More

October Rain

The season is slowly coming to an end for me.  We are back in VT full time now and doing some house and yard work before winter is here.  The good news is we should have enough wood to keep us warm! The winter toys are ready to be busted out and played with.  We should have another month or so of paddling before the winter season kicks in.  It’s been another great year and can’t wait for next! Here’s a video and photos from this past week of paddling in VT with my Recon 70. …See More

How to Back Stab

I love the backstab but I have a habit of neglecting this trick.  I tend to land a trick backwards and will spin myself forward right away.  When I do that I yell at myself to do a damn backstab you moron!  It’s a bad habit that I’m breaking. It really is a sweet trick and when you do it right it’s such an awesome feeling.  Definition of the Back Stab (back blunt)180 degree rotation around the stern of the boat, elevated more than 45 degrees, on green water, clear of the foam pile. Video update

August has been an awesome month. Lot's of great paddling and hanging out with family and friends. I've spent most of the month on Lake Ontario and paddling at Hole Brothers.I split my Labor Day weekend sailing with Jeff and paddling. I went to Beaver Fest to paddle Moshier Falls with a bunch of great friends and Team Z. It's such a fun run that only releases one day a year so it's a big deal and lot's of boaters show up.  I was excited to see so many boaters paddling in Recons. The Recon 70…See More

Fun times in July

July has been a busy month with events and traveling.  It kicked off with the Deerfield River Fest in MA.  I set up a booth for Wave Sport right next to the NRS booth which was run by Blake.  We had lots of visitors just chilling out in our booths and Kenny brought cake so it was a good night!  Confluence Outdoors donated a couple boats for the Silent Auction.  Maui Jim, KEEN, Accent Paddles, and Zoar Outdoor all donated to American Whitewater for the Silent Auction.  Even I donated a free…See More

West Branching with Team Z and a new sponsor

Living in Readsboro, VT has so many whitewater options.  My favorite is the WB of the Deerfield.  This section runs with snow melt and rain.  A big thunderstorm rolled in Wednesday night and dropped like 5 inches of rain in the area.  I checked the level first thing in the morning and it was running at a great medium level.  We put on and it was 2 feet.  My Recon 70 kills it on this run!  Check out the video of my Recon 70 in action!VT Peanut Butter is located in Morrisville, VT and is a new…See More

Video update

I put together a video of a day paddling at Hole Brothers in NY using my Wave Sport Mobius 49 and some squirt boating at Consumption Junction on the Deerfield River in MA.  I'm finally getting this squirt boating thing sorted out.  I wish I started this years ago because I live like 30 minutes  away from an amazing squirt spot.  The Zoar Outdoor Demo Fest begins tomorrow so I'll be there in the Wave Sport booth and will be helping out with mini clinics.  There's still some room in mini clinics…See More

May Travels

May has been a pretty fun month for me.  I got to paddle a bunch so that was pretty sweet, I turned 34, found out I'm going to be an aunt, and my best friends had a beautiful baby girl!  It's been a good month!    The month started off with working a few events. I went to the Saratoga Springs and Old Forge, NY Paddle Festivals. It was fun talking to people about the sport of kayaking and getting them into the right kayak that best suits their needs. There was a SUP race at the Old Forge event…See More

Spring has sprung

Here's what's been going on in the world of the Campbell's.  We went to the New England Triple Crown a couple of weeks ago. The Triple Crown has usually been a successful event for me but not this year.  I'm not sure if it was lack of paddling or if I just wasn't into competing that day or if it was the swim in cold ass water.  Whatever it was, it was not a good day for me. I took a swim out of my wild water boat with my wing paddle, towards the end of the race. I wound up getting stuck on a…See More
