Gunnison Whitewater Festival

On June 26-28, 2009 river mania hits the Gunnison Valley. It’s the Gunnison River Festival – a whitewater extravaganza! With a Boatercross, a freestyle and downriver race, the Taylor Canyon Enduro, community and competitive boat racing, build your own boat race, and many other fabulous whitewater events, this event is a must.

Several hundred participants and spectators participated in the event in 2008. We expect the event to grow in ’09 and we are expecting great water levels on a great weekend during a month of river festivals all over western Colorado. Cash and product prizes, food, beer garden, vendors, and the always fantastic summer days of the Gunnison Valley compliment this celebration of rivers. Live music and an awards party on Saturday night roll out into a great day of activities on Sunday up in Taylor Canyon.
